“It’s not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters.” Epictetus

If we weren’t so easily thrown out of balance, life would be too simple. And perhaps even boring. There goes the saying that without rain, how can we appreciate the sun? Whilst most of us can comprehend the idea, even try to remind ourselves of it every day or every now and again to keep going and be successful with that approach, sometimes, things can spiral down and grow out of proportion so much that these self-medicated little pearls of wisdom and encouragement simply no longer work. Sometimes we hit rock bottom, feel like the whole world keeps crashing down on our head and we see no way out.

Our approach

We come from the understanding that the way you eat, what you eat, how you sleep and rest, maintain your home or your finances, how or if you exercise or socialise and receive much needed love and sense of belonging - all that (and much more!) forms a certain chemistry of your brain and body that inevitably dictates the way you think, feel and respond to everyday life. It affects your social life and communication, willingness to tackle obstacles, it can push you astray from the direction you want to go, attack your self-image and self-confidence, even throw you into severe depression.

Becoming overwhelmed as a response to the mayhem we perceive is often a result not of external factors, but rather the inner physical and mental imbalance. This imbalance, that despite being the result of external factors, likely took years to form, wreaking a havoc in our body and mind, slowly depleting our energy levels and our ability to cope with everyday life and process all good and bad that it tries to throw at us in a healthy way.

Building Rersilience

We want to give you a chance and tools to first regain this inner balance, replenish your mental and physical energy reservoirs and allow you to see how this change shifts your mindset. For example, we won’t try to help you rid of unwanted external factors that you find annoying or help you avoid certain situations that you find uncomfortable. Instead, we will try to help you regain your inner balance through diet and habits that will make you feel more grounded and less reactive. We won’t encourage you or teach you to change or fight with what’s coming at you, we want you to be strong once again to withstand it all. Because life will never seize to be life. Those challenges will keep coming. But “it’s not what happens to you, but how you respond to it that matters.” And the quality of that response depends solely on the level of your physical and mental wellbeing.
